POPULATION SERVED

The position involves direct and indirect patient care for a population of patients between the ages of 13 and 100. Age specific experience and/or special training and/or expertise is required to serve this population.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Certified Nursing Assistant performs routine tasks in patient care and bedside nursing. This position does provide direct patient care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires certification as a Nurse Assistant by the State. Knowledge of basic nursing techniques and procedures, aseptic practices, and cardio-pulmonary techniques is required. Nursing Students may be considered as Nurse Assistants if approved by the State Practice Act.

This position requires the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to follow written and verbal instructions, and to maintain effective working relations with others. CPR certification required.

Ability to maintain assigned work hours: Requires endurance to perform tasks over long periods of work hours.


Requirements
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Experience one plus years in acute care setting/LTAC required.
